i think that porosity, permeability, and retention are related because the all measure water somehow.for example our lab we used permeability to do the rate of flow, and porosity we used it for the volume of water and the retenton we used it too see how much water is trapped by soil. i think that we should care about these properties of soil because without these properties we wont be able to grow any plants or our food....
